New Solar Array Is One of Several Projects Under Construction

A new solar array at the C.W. Bill Young Regional Reservoir will offset electricity consumption for Tampa Bay Water and is one of the nine projects currently in construction for the utility. Others include a new temporary booster station that will bring an additional 5 million gallons per day (mgd) of drinking water to southern Hillsborough County as early as summer 2022 and adding a seventh pump to the High Service Pump Station, which will increase the pumping capacity for the regional system.

These and the rest of Tampa Bay Water’s recently completed, current and upcoming construction projects are outlined in the quarterly construction update presented at the January 2022 board meeting.
