Lake Bridge Chemical Piping Replacement

Lake Bridge point of connection, Pasco County

Located in northern Hillsborough County, the Lake Bridge Water Treatment Plant trims and adjusts the water quality of approximately 8-13 million gallons of water per day (mgd) from the regional pipeline before it’s delivered to Pasco County’s water system. It also treats an average of 11.2 mgd of groundwater from the Cypress Bridge Wellfield. The plant has been in operation since 2009.

Overview

This project aims to replace chemical piping, pumps and tanks inside the Lake Bridge Water Treatment Plant in addition to adding new chemical injection points to the existing piping.

Benefits

The Lake Bridge Chemical Piping Replacement Project will improve the plant’s reliability and maintain the overall quality of the water coming from the plant to the regional system. It will offer redundancy for the chemical piping, pumps and tanks and will allow better access to the outdoor chemical piping for maintenance.

Cost

Total cost for design and construction is $1.15 million. Pasco County will co-fund $234,500 toward the project.

Location

The Lake Bridge Water Treatment Plant is located east of I-75 and south of County Line Road in Hillsborough County.

Time Frame

This project is scheduled to be completed in April 2024.

Public Impacts

This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
