CLEARWATER, Fla. (December 12, 2016) – Tampa Bay Water announced today the winners of its source water protection mini-grants: Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, Keep Pinellas Beautiful and Florida Southern College. The mini-grants were presented by Tampa Bay Water’s board of directors at its regular board meeting.
"Our board has always maintained a strong commitment to protecting our natural resources,” said General Manager Matt Jordan. “We’re pleased to offer mini-grants to help support community and environmental groups that share our commitment."
This year, Tampa Bay Water received four applications and selected the following winners:
All mini-grant applications received were reviewed and screened against the program’s selection criteria. Funds will be granted in 2017. Since 2008, Tampa Bay Water has invested more than $170,000 in its mini-grant program to help local, community based efforts that protect our most precious resource.
Tampa Bay Water is the largest wholesale water supplier in Florida, providing high-quality drinking water to its members, who in turn, supply water to more than 2.4 million residents of the Tampa Bay area. Tampa Bay Water member governments include the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa, and the counties of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas.
