Did you know you can be rewarded for making wise water choices? The Tampa Bay Water Wise program offers 11 rebates for residents, commercial property owners, contractors and builders who purchase and install new water saving devices on or after March 1, 2020. Rebates are available for high water-use items, such as plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems, landscaping and commercial food service equipment.
The program is a collaborative effort among Tampa Bay Water, its member governments and the Southwest Florida Water Management District to save up to 11 million gallons per day (mgd) of water by 2030. That sounds like a lot — and it is! — but with your help, it’s easier to accomplish than you might think. It equates to a little less than 5 gallons of water per person per day. If you replace an older toilet that uses 3.5 gallons per flush with a new, low-flow toilet, you can save more than 5 gallons of water every day!
