Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative provides electric service to 17 Tampa Bay Water sites in Pasco County. Annually the cooperative allocates a pro rata share of its margins to its member-owners on the amount billed for electric service during the year. For 2023, the cooperative refunded Tampa Bay Water $97,343.18 and presented the check to Ron Oakley, chairman of the board, in December.
Over the past five years Tampa Bay Water has received $484,953.12 in refunds from the cooperative. Tampa Bay Water allocates these refunds toward the utility’s energy savings projects.
