Tampa Bay Water updates its annual demand forecast to ensure the next water supply project is developed in time to meet growing demands. We also use the demand forecast data to prepare our annual budget and to plan how we will balance the use of our supply sources for the coming year. This helps us manage future effects on the uniform water rate.
For 2025, Tampa Bay Water anticipates delivering an average of 209.7 million gallons of water per day (mgd) to our member governments, 8.5 mgd more than last year’s projection for 2025. The median demand for the year 2043 has increased by about 10.7 mgd since last year’s update, due to increasing population.
