At the November meeting, Tampa Bay Water’s board of directors selected Persson, Cohen, Mooney, Fernandez & Jackson, P.A. to replace general counsel firm Conn & Buenaventura, who has served as the agency’s general counsel since 2012. General Manager Chuck Carden will begin contract negotiations and bring the contract to the board for a vote in January 2024. Board Vice Chairman Henry Cohen has no relation to this firm.
Separately, the board approved a contract for Conn & Buenaventura, P.A., for legal services. The firm’s current contract expires Dec. 31, 2023. The new contract provides continuity of services until a contract is negotiated and approved with a new general counsel firm. Thereafter, Conn & Buenaventura will serve as special counsel to provide assistance on an hourly basis.
