Tampa Bay Water welcomed a familiar face to its executive team as Tommy Brown returned to the agency as continuous improvement director, effective March 6. In this role, he is responsible for leading agency-wide continuous improvement and championing innovation and efficiency through developing, testing and coordinating the implementation of technologies, processes and performance measurements. He will also oversee the agency’s safety services functions.

Tommy previously worked with Tampa Bay Water from 2005 to 2014 as senior contracts manager and as senior manager of continuous improvement. He has more than 30 years’ experience in industrial engineering, quality engineering and continuous improvement. Most recently, he served as senior delivery director with Anthology Inc. Prior to that, he was a continuous improvement lead with The Mosaic Company.

Tommy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing engineering technology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Master of Science in manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He is certified in change management through Prosci and in production and inventory management (CPIM) through APICS; he is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
