CLEARWATER, Fla. (June 10, 2019) – The Water Research Foundation announced today that it has awarded Tampa Bay Water its 2019 Outstanding Subscriber Award for Applied Research. The award was presented during the Foundation’s annual Subscriber Appreciation and Awards Breakfast at ACE19 in Denver, Colorado.
The Outstanding Subscriber Award for Applied Research honors subscribing utilities that have successfully applied the Foundation’s research to make notable improvements to their water treatment, delivery, and/or management processes.
“It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to water research. Our board of directors and agency leadership have maintained a strong commitment to using applied research to make the data-driven decisions in providing our member governments and their customers the high-quality drinking water they deserve,” said Matt Jordan, Tampa Bay Water’s General Manager.
Tampa Bay Water has been involved in Water Research Foundation projects for more than 25 years on subjects including water quality, stakeholder communications, energy efficiency, source water protection and more. The utility continues to have a leadership role in several research projects that help water managers make decisions using sound, science-based research.
“Those of us involved in managing, cleaning and delivering water share an obligation to protect public health,” added Jordan. “Tampa Bay Water thanks the Foundation and all of those involved in the research community for the public service they provide.”
