2024 Year in Review

A Letter from the Chairman and General Manager

Supplying drinking water to more than 2.6 million people now and in the future is an essential public service that fuels economic growth in Tampa Bay. And it’s not possible without the support of the Florida Legislature, our member governments and regulatory partners, our dedicated staff and our community.

In 2024, Tampa Bay Water achieved its mission despite challenges faced by many Florida communities – a prolonged drought followed by back-to-back hurricanes.

Yet, we fulfilled our promise and delivered nearly 200 million gallons of clean safe drinking water per day to our six member governments and the residents and businesses they serve. That’s not all. Some of our other work included:

  • Advancing key projects like our Tampa Bay Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant expansion and the South Hillsborough Pipeline to meet our community’s growing water needs.
  • Launching feasibility studies for seven potential new water supply projects to secure our region’s future supply.
  • Maintaining an affordable wholesale water rate through strategic use of bond financing and with help from state and federal funding.
  • Expanding community engagement by supporting environmental education programs through grants and partnerships.

Watch our 2024 Year in Review video to see how we made it all happen!

We thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Commissioner Harry Cohen
