CLEARWATER, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2025) – Tampa Bay Water Wise has reached a big win for water conservation: 1 million gallons saved every day thanks to rebates offered since the program launched in 2020. The announcement came during Tampa Bay Water’s recent board meeting, where program manager, Amelia Brown, confirmed the program surpassed its 2025 goal.

And the work doesn’t stop there. The program’s overall target is 3.8 million gallons per day by 2030. To help get there, Tampa Bay Water Wise is boosting rebate incentives temporarily for homeowners and businesses to replace old toilets with more water-efficient models.

“This milestone proves small actions make a big impact,” said Brown. “We’re grateful to everyone who helped us get here—and we’re pushing to save even more.”

The program’s success comes from thousands of participants—homeowners, HOAs, restaurants, hotels, and multifamily communities—who’ve installed high-efficiency toilets, smart irrigation systems, and water-saving appliances.

Conservation remains one of the most cost-effective ways to meet future water demand. At just $0.74 per thousand gallons saved, it’s less expensive than building new water supply infrastructure.

“We’re investing in water supply infrastructure to meet future water demands, but conservation means less to build—and more money in your pocket,” Brown added.
