Located in central Pasco County, the Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant provides treatment disinfection, ground storage and high service pumping of groundwater from the Cross Bar Ranch and Cypress Creek wellfields and regional water. It delivers approximately 90 million gallons per day of drinking water to the regional system.
This project is part of the utility’s Renewal and Replacement Program and aims to replace chemical treatment components such as piping, pumps, tanks and chemical injection points inside the Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant.
The Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant Chemical Piping Replacement Project will improve the plant’s long-term reliability and maintain the overall quality of the water coming from the plant to the regional system. It will offer redundancy for the chemical treatment piping, pumps and tanks and will allow better access to the chemical piping for maintenance.
Total cost for design and construction is $7.5 million.
The Cypress Creek Water Treatment Plant is located in central Pasco County east of U.S. Highway 41.
Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2024 and be completed by fall 2025.
This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
