Chris Owen Water Person of the Year Award

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Christine Owen of Tampa Bay Water was awarded Water Quality Person of the Year by the American Water Works Association and the American Membrane Technology Association. The award recognizes outstanding contribution by an individual in government, academia or research for water supply improvement.

The award was presented at the Membrane Technology Conference & Exposition in Long Beach, Calif.

“I’m honored to receive the award,” said Owen, Tampa Bay Water’s Water Quality Services Senior Manager. “Providing clean, safe water is a top priority for us and this is a reflection of Tampa Bay Water’s commitment to providing high-quality water to our members and the people of Tampa Bay.”

Water Quality Person of the Year is awarded to those who demonstrate outstanding contribution to water supply improvement through individual effort in the support of membrane or desalination technologies and/or water reuse.

Ms. Owen was selected for the award based on her research and work in blending three distinct sources of drinking water, stabilizing water after treatment and maintaining water quality throughout the distribution system.
