CLEARWATER, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2019) – Tampa Bay Water is asking Hillsborough County residents for input through a two-minute online survey. The Tampa Bay area’s regional drinking water wholesaler is working to site and eventually construct a new drinking water pipeline to connect the south-central Hillsborough area to the regional drinking water supply system. This construction will affect some Hillsborough County residents.

The planning stages for this project are underway and Tampa Bay Water is asking Hillsborough County residents to take the online survey to say what is important to them regarding siting and construction. Hillsborough County resident input on siting and construction criteria such as public inconvenience, cost, safety and environmental impacts will be used to help choose the final pipeline route.

The new pipeline will connect the regional drinking water facilities in Brandon to one of three Hillsborough County drinking water connections to ensure residents south of Highway 60 have adequate supplies of high-quality drinking water. The connection points range from Falkenburg Road, to the Lithia Water Treatment Plant, to a potential new site in the Balm area.
