The Morris Bridge Wellfield is located within Flatwoods Park and contains 20 wells—15 wells in service and five wells that are no longer in service. The Morris Bridge Wellfield has a total capacity of 34 million gallons per day, or mgd.
The project will replace pumps, motors, piping, electrical components and arc flash components on 15 wells currently in service and will properly abandon the five wells that are no longer in service while preserving and repurposing 3 of the 5 wellhouse buildings for use by Flatwoods Park staff.
This project will maintain Morris Bridge Wellfield’s existing level of service and increase its efficiency and reliability while reducing operation and maintenance costs.
The budget for the project is approximately $19 million for design and construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026 and be completed in summer 2028.
This project may require periodic closing of sections of the Flatwoods Park Trail in Hillsborough County’s Flatwoods Park. Tampa Bay Water, in partnership with Hillsborough County, will inform residents in advance.
