Tampa Bay Water Wise Adds Customizable Rebate
Water Wise, | | Return

Tampa Bay Water Wise is the region’s water conservation rebate program offered by Tampa Bay Water, its participating utilities and the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The program offers 11 different rebates to residents, commercial property owners, contractors and builders. The goal is to save up to 11 million gallons of water per day by 2030.

Since it launched March 30, 2020, the Tampa Bay Water Wise rebate program has paid 844 rebates, resulting in saving an estimated 27,600 gallons per day. Rebates paid so far were for

  • 510 single-family toilets
  • 326 multi-family toilets
  • 4 irrigation controllers
  • 3 commercial toilets
  • 1 shallow well

A new customizable rebate specifically for commercial and multi-family building projects is currently being piloted and would provide customers up to 75 percent of project costs, up to a maximum of $40,000 per project. This customizable rebate is a joint partnership between the District’s WISE (Water Incentives Supporting Efficiency) program and the Tampa Bay Water Wise Program. Anyone in the member service area with a project that saves potable water who is eligible for funding from the WISE program will automatically be eligible for a higher rebate through additional funding from Tampa Bay Water Wise.
