Board Approves New Connection for Growing Pasco County Request
Board, | | Return

Pasco County has one of Florida’s fastest growth rates.  To serve growth along State Road 52 between U.S. 41 and I-75, the county has formally requested a new point of connection by 2035 to Tampa Bay Water’s regional system. At its October meeting, Tampa Bay Water’s board of directors unanimously approved the request. Now agency and county staff will begin planning and negotiating a memorandum of understanding and/or joint project agreement for the design and construction of the point of connection to bring back to both boards at a later date.

“We closely monitor growth trends and long-term water demand forecasts,” said Chuck Carden, Tampa Bay Water’s general manager. “We’ll continue working closely with our member to ensure adequate supply for Pasco County’s customers.”
