Matt Jordan Approved to Lead Tampa Bay Water

On July 8, 2013, Matthew W. Jordan will take the helm as general manager of Tampa Bay Water. The utility’s board of directors approved Jordan’s employment contract at its June 17 meeting. The three-year contract sets an annual salary of $180,000.

Jordan brings more than 25 years of management and administrative experience to Tampa Bay Water. In his position as chief executive officer of North Carolina’s Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, he managed the successful consolidation of the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County utilities into an authority. This effort included overseeing and guiding the management team that ensured the new authority was ready to operate in a timely manner. The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority issued more than $231 in revenue bonds during Jordan’s tenure as CEO.

Jordan was the successful candidate out of more than 180 that applied. Of those 52 met the minimum criteria and were reviewed by a screening committee. Five of the 52 were selected to be interviewed by Tampa Bay Water's board.
