Overview

The Northwest Hillsborough Pipeline Project involves a new water line that will connect Tampa Bay Water’s regional system to Hillsborough County’s Northwest Hillsborough Potable Water Treatment Facility (Northwest Facility) located at Fawn Ridge and will allow these long-producing wells to rest intermittently.  In addition, the project also includes yard piping at both the Northwest Facility and at the City of St. Petersburg’s Cosme Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that will allow water from those facilities to be delivered into the regional system during emergency conditions.

The project cost is approximately $8 million. Tampa Bay Water is funding the Northwest Hillsborough Pipeline Project through its members’ water rates and bond funds.  In addition, a co-funding application was submitted to the Southwest Florida Water Management District and will be considered for approval in Winter 2007.
