On February 19, 2007, Tampa Bay Water's Board of Directors approved the pipeline route shown below. This route was selected after analyzing several criteria related to safety, construction, environmental impacts and cost among others. The 36-inch diameter pipeline will be approximately 2-1/2 miles long.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2009.
