Tampa Bay Water Completes Contract Negotiations with New General Manager

Clearwater, Fla. (May 20, 2013) – Tampa Bay Water's Chairman and General Counsel have successfully completed contract negotiations with Matthew W. Jordan, P.E., and he has accepted the position as Tampa Bay Water's new general manager. The contract will go before the Board of Directors for consideration at its June 17 regular board meeting. Pending board approval, Mr. Jordan will start work on July 8, 2013.

Reservoir Renovation in Full Swing

Tampa Bay Water’s contractor, Kiewit Infrastructure South, began construction on the Reservoir Renovation Project in February. Kiewit is implementing a multi-step solution to make the reservoir fully functional. First, Kiewit is removing the existing erosion-control layer; second, it is adding a drain and third, Kiewit is adding thicker, stronger soil cement to the interior.

Tampa Bay Water Encourages Residents to Water Smarter

Just in time for the dry season and Water Conservation Month, Tampa Bay Water has rolled out a public awareness campaign designed to reduce outdoor water use. The “Water Smarter” campaign asks residents to take specific actions to reduce outdoor water use in April, May and early June when area water use typically increases.

Tampa Bay Regional Water Supply and Drought Update

CLEARWATER, Fla. (April 17, 2013)— Due to below average rainfall since October, exhausted river water flows and current regional water supply conditions, the Tampa Bay region remains in a Phase 4 water shortage status. This regional shortage is considered to be at a Phase 4 status under the agency’s modified Water Shortage Mitigation Plan.

Tampa Bay Water Board Approves Seeber Resignation; Appoints Chuck Carden Interim General Manager

Clearwater, Fla. (April 16, 2013) – The Tampa Bay Water Board of Directors on Monday approved the resignation of General Manager, Gerald J. Seeber. The board then unanimously voted to appoint Chief Operating Officer, Chuck Carden to Interim General Manager.
