Summary of Landscape and Irrigation Ordinance Requirements for Unincorporated Pinellas County (Updated 05/13/2003)
The following information has been compiled as a courtesy to Landscape and Irrigation Contractors and residents only; please verify all information prior to applying for licensing and permits.
- Plumbing permit is required for connection to county or city water, showing backflow preventer. This must be a licensed plumber, licensed irrigation contractor or the homeowner.
- For well pumps, electrical permits are required only if the pump is not already existing. This must be licensed electrical contractor or the homeowner.
- Landscape material (hedge/trees) is required as part of the site plan or habitat (tree) permit (new construction only).
- The permit can be obtained by coming to the department in person
- Or by faxing in the application and follow-up with the actual application mailed in within 7 days
