12-hour meeting to finalize revisions of Governance documents; EPC Interlocal Agreement approved; Board adopts resolution approving all Governance documents and authorizing Chairman to execute.

Signing Ceremony at the Florida Aquarium

County Commissions from Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties and City Councils from St. Petersburg, New Port Richey and Tampa signed the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement creating Tampa Bay Water; Partnership Agreement with Southwest Florida Water Management District also signed. Governor Lawton Chiles and local legislative delegates attend the signing of the historic water accord.

Tampa Bay Water is created with limited contract provisions in place.

Oct. 1, 1998

Governance fully implemented

Each member government transferred its water supply facilities to Tampa Bay Water and waived rights to individually develop water supply facilities.

TAC: Technical Advisory Committee consisting of Utility Directors from each Member Government and Authority staff.

LAC: Legal Advisory Committee consisting of legal representatives from each Member Government and the Authority.
