Providing clean, high-quality drinking water that meets or is better than federal or state standards is what Tampa Bay Water has done since its inception. And that means we’re constantly studying and testing the quality of our raw, source water and treated, potable water.
An initial study completed in December 2019 showed us we have an opportunity to lower total organic carbon (TOC) and other quality parameters that would assist our member governments with delivery of enhanced water quality.
At its August meeting, the Tampa Bay Water board awarded Carollo Engineers Inc. a contract to further evaluate reducing TOC and other quality parameters through bench and pilot studies and modeling that will lead to defined solutions and recommend implementation plans. The competitively bid contract has a total cost of $1,098,792, and will be funded through the Uniform Rate in Fiscal Years 2020-2022.
